This scholarship was started in the year 1996, in memory of Ilya, a young student of the Aarohi Bal Sansar who passed away at the tender age of three and half. Contributions from friends created a corpus, the interest from which is being used to give special children from the region an opportunity to take courses to promote their academic and co-curricular talent. It has also been used to inculcate a sense of adventure for the senior children of the Aarohi Bal Sansar by way of travel and trekking to different parts of the mountains.
